Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book an inspection?
Your inspection should be booked as soon as possible after you enter into a contract to purchase. You will receive a full report within 24 hours of the inspection.
What do you include in your inspection?
Your home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of all major components of a residential property. Designed to identify defects within systems and components. Areas that are inspected include the following: Roof, Exterior, Basement, Foundation, Heating System, Cooling System, Plumbing, Electrical, Attic, and Interior.
Does your price include thermal imaging?
Yes, We feel thermal imaging is an asset to compliment our inspections and give you the best value for your dollar. It is complementary to our inspection service. We do also offer it as a standalone service.
What if you find a problem?
Finding a problem during a home inspection doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t buy the property. Finding a material defect gives you an idea of the cost that could be associated with its evaluation and repair. We also note safety and maintenance items.
Do I need to be present for my home inspection?
Although not required, it is advised that you be present for your inspection. The process does take over 2 hours, so it’s not necessary to be available for all of it, however the walk-through portion of the inspection includes valuable information and maintenance items.
Do I really need a sewer camera inspection?
Blockages and grading issues have been found in homes of all ages. Tree root and connection issues tend to be more prominent in older homes and those with aged wastewater systems. A camera inspection is always good peace of mind.
How and when do I pay you?
We accept Visa and Mastercard as well as e-transfers. Our Quickbooks software will send you an invoice with a link for payment. This must be paid prior to the start of the inspection.
Will you tell me how long my furnace will last?
We are only able to report on the condition of your furnace and other systems at the time of inspection. These are non-invasive, visual inspections only, and any component can fail at any time.
My main water valve is stuck, didn’t you test it?
During an inspection, we only list the locations of water and gas valves. Old valves can leak once operated or fail to re-open. Due to the nature of corrosion and varied ages of plumbing components, we don’t test their operation.
I bought my home and there are a few items I’m having issues understanding. Can I call you?
Absolutely, I don’t believe that your inspection ends with a report. I am happy to take your calls, emails, or texts for advice after the fact.
